anery-type color ?

Is there any darker colored corn (anery-type) that does not get the yellow on the sides as they get older?

The amount of yellow on any snake can never really be predicted. Some charcoals have minimal yellow, but you'll need to find a breeder that has adults with minimal yellow and who produce offspring with minimal yellow. And even then, the breeder can't guarantee your particular snake will have minimal yellow when purchased as a hatchling.

Your other options are lavenders, but they aren't as dark as anerys or charcoals and you might end up with one that has lots of pinks and peaches, or the ashy/cinders, and again, they may not be as dark and often have some mahogany red coloration.

This is an anery that I produced last year. I kept her back because of her pattern but to be honest... all the babies were very abberantly patterned. Dot's mom is a ghost and the dad is an anery.... and neither of them have hardly any yellow. I got them because of that very fact. I dont like yellow on my anerys, charcoals or snows... basically any snake that isnt Supposed to be yellow LOL

cat-eyed lady... that is one GORGEOUS anery! By his size I would think you'd see yellow on him if he was getting any.

Cool pattern on that baby, Cat-eyed lady. But who says anery-A and snow snakes aren't "supposed to be yellow?" Apart from the fact that yellow is typical for these morphs, I just like it! To my eye it makes for a pretty contrast.

Thanks Autumn She is now a yearling and about 150 grams. There were 27 babies like that in that clutch. My ghost female always has Huge clutchs.

Caryl, I didnt say they werent supposed to have yellow..... I said that is what I personally prefer

One of my very favorite things about corns is their variability, even within a morph. Isn't it just totally cool that there's a "flavor" for virtually everyone? (Gracious, I just reread that last sentence. The teenagers are rubbing off on me! lol)

Yeah, I think we all have those days. I personally have more of them that not, lately...:shrugs:

By the way, did the parents of the pretty anery in your first here have aberrant patterns?

not really no. They both have a few saddles that kinda connect but thats about it. When these starting hatching out, I was shocked. I expected anerys, of course.... but I was testing the male for amel and hypo..... But I sure never expected any of the babies to look like this. Was really cool watching them hatch too because there were so many, that every time I opened the container there were 6 or so to take out.... was kinda like trying to catch one zebra in a herd LOL

hehe nope, sorry. Just Dot left and she needs to go to a home where she wont be bred. She has/had a kink near the vent so she is 'pet home' only Its another reason she is still here. I wish I could find a nice home for her. She is a real sweety and loves to get out and explore.
