I have known something was going on at my house because the cat has been trying to get under the stove like crazy. After finding rodent droppings one morning on the floor I went out and got a live mousetrap, well after several nights of smearing the outside with peanut butter I finally caught this. I hope it's the only one, my cat has been completely worthless. I took a quick pic and will be releasing it later today.

Cute little guy. Is that a deer mouse or just the usual house mouse? Doesn't look pointy and brown/white enough for a deer, yet has the bugged eyes of one.

Least I'm not the only one who tries to live trap them when possible. The only time I use the killer traps is when they get into my food or my pet food. I don't tolerate the urine and droppings all over food.

Mouse ID is not my forte. I think it's a deer mouse, it has the bug eyes and a light colored belly.
The way I see it it's just trying to find a warm spot for winter, If I had a totally infested house I'd probably feel different but AFAIK it has not been getting into my food or the pet food. Took me a long time to catch it, if there were more I think the trap would have worked faster but I will keep setting it to be sure. I guess I'm a sucker for furry critters...

:eek1: I haven't heard of any but I've only lived here since March. This one didn't seem sick at least, I let him go yesterday. He squeaked loudly, ran across my foot and dived into a pile of leaves. I disinfected the kritter keeper with soap and clorox. Find another place to live Jerry! :sidestep:
