I am new here. I am selling my savannah monitor this weekend and planning on getting a baby corn snake. I want a snake that is tame and going to get a good size. But I could get a baby ball python for only $10 more, and I dont really know what to go with. I love the colors of the corns but all the pics I have seen of them, they are so tiny, and the ones that are big says it takes a few years for them to even get a good size, and the baby ball pythons are already a good size so I need some advise on what to do.
 
Just remember that pythons grow over six feet and most states require a permit foe snakes that are six feet and up. But welcome!!

Royal/Ball Pythons hardly ever reach 6 foot in the wild, let alone in captivity, especially if you buy a male. I own a Royal myself, they are beautiful and docile snakes, ideal starters. However, judging by the price they are charging which is outrageously low, then I'd guess they were imported. I personally bought a captive-bred animal, they often lack the feeding problems that are associated with Royals, and are usually parasite-free. Although CB Royals are a little more expensive than imported ones, the extra payout is worth it.

Corns are also great snakes, and again, it depends how much you want to spend. You can buy a normal or an amelanistic Corn for as little as $20, but if you have the budget then you could go for a motley or hypo or something like that. Just have a look on a breeders site and see which one you prefer.
