How many other people enjoy a certain smell associated with animal care??

Examples from my day today- freshly rinsed gravel or sand in a brand new aquarium, moist bed-a-beast (for some reason reminds me of church??) and corn cob bedding for my gerbils. These have to be some of the best smells ever to me. I am wondering if anyone else has an animal-related smell they really enjoy??

I love the smell of fresh aspen, and to be honest, the general smell when I open the vivs. The smell of a tub of waxworms has a particular smell about it too. Dog shampoo, cat food, cat fur too, horse main and tail detangler...I've got a huge list.

Maybe I'm crazy too...

PS. Horse dung is the best.

I love to cuddle with my cats & stick my face in their furry bellies...I love their smell. Well, not so much their breath, but definitely their furry bellies. :)

I love the smell of Cow Manure. I grew up by 3 dairies, so its just a natural smell for me. It smells like home! I love the smell of chicken food too. And chickens, live ones, lol.

I will admit... Sometimes I enjoy the scent of poo. Dog poo to be specific. I also like the way a dirty dog smells, wet dog smells, and dog breath (unless they have rotting tooth). I also like the smell of gasoline and I love the smell of skunk spray.

I'm strange, I admit it.

I know exactly what you mean! I love the smell of aspen, and the mouse bedding I use. Also the lab blocks, and the cat's food. Etc... kind of silly, but they are just familiar happy smells.

I totally agree there is nothing like the smell of a dairy and going into the hen house to collect eggs, it's almost as if the eggs smell good.
I also love the smell of a Golden Retriever, they have an odor all their own. Recently I was at a friends office and he has a new Golden named Tuck. Well Tuck came up to me and I just started to cry, he smelled so good (we used to have a Golden). susang, there's no doubt Im crazy, just ask my shrink

I like the smell of a brand spanking clean dog or cat, once they've dried. But, that's really just the smell of shampoo, then, isn't it, sans the smell of dog. So no, I guess I don't.

Which reminds me, the dog needs to be washed. I'll put it on the list of things to do tomorrow.

Any smells associated with the horses are among my favorites. Carefresh and Yesterday's News pellets are up there from when I had rabbits, too. Wood chips for all animals, and also crickets from the mantises I kept. :)

I love the musky smell of clean mice, I love the milky smell of puppies, I love the smell of my dog's feet, I totally go crazy over the smell of horses........

Puppy Breath! Melts my heart.....

Fresh Aspen....always makes me smile...

Horses... something about their scent. I like leaning against them. Makes me just want to. I've had my fanny bitten once or twice, but it's worth the risk. :D

Enjoy All!
