Hi All,
I just got a new amel cornsnake. He is such a great little guy. I did a lot of research before so I am excited that he is is finally home and hanging out. But I am kinda stumped for a name. Does anyone have any good suggestions. He is very friendly and outgoing so I was thinking of calling him Jolly(ya know with xmas just passing). Let me know if anyone has any good websites or name ideas.

I suck at names, so won't even suggest "Yule" or anything like that. Just wanted to say Welcome and wish you and your Amel-to-be-named the best! Ask all the questions you want. Otherwise, we have to work or something.

Welcome to the site. Its nice to hear you did your research before getting your little guy. You will find all you need and more here, If for some reason you dont then just ask.
We are all here to help

Congrads on the new addition and welcome to the board. No suggestions on names... my newest one doesn't have one yet either... of course, I'm a little particular... they must be Scottish or Celtic in nature... I have Kieran, Don Dorcha ("Daire") and Gailleann.

We have some folks that are really great at naming their snakes, so maybe they will pop in with a few for you :)

thanks

Thanks for the help with the name suggestions. :spinner:I think i will just wait until i get to know him a little better then maybe a good name will pop up for him.

Hey & welcome...where in Boston? (I lived on the wrong side of the tracks in JP for a few years...;) )

A name will come to you, but a few of us named our first snake "Maizie" (spelled in a variety of ways) -- "maize" is for "corn" in Native American. :) (My first -- also an amel -- is named Maizie. ;) )

My suggestion for naming: pick something that is important to you & take something out of that as a name. For example, I love languages & so, just about all of my pets have names taken from different languages...(my anery is "Fritz", just a German name; one of my cats is Voxie because he's a chatterbox & "vox" in Latin is for voice/talk...etc...I have lots of examples! :) )

Don't worry -- if all goes well, you'll become addicted (like the rest of us!) and you'll acquire more than just one & so, you'll have other chances at naming your next few snakes, if you don't feel that naming this one went as well as you'd hoped. Or, you could just use naming this one as the start of a theme, and you'll have to finish it out by getting more snakes to fulfill the rest of the names...:)

Congrats!

PS...:dancer: YEAH for advance planning & research!!! :dancer:
