New to Corn Snakes - from England

delhook

Tastes like chicken
Hi everyone. Just joined the forum as I have my first Corn arriving later this week. Used to keep Garter snakes many years ago so not totally new to the hobby. Will try to post some pictures once she's settled in.

BTW I already own a Leopard Gecko named Ozzy.... :)

Welcome to the forum mate!

I wish you the best of luck with your new Cornsnake and I recommend you take this time to do as much research as possible! :) I'd also recommend a great book called 'Corn Snakes: The Comprehensive Owners Guide' by Kathy and Bill Love.

All the best

David

Welcome

Im new here to and also new to snakes! This seems to be a very good and informative site!

I'm happy to say my new amel corn is settling in beautifully. Apart from her first feed (which went fine) I've left her to herself, but she handled fine when transferring her to the feed tank. She's been named Willow.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forums!

Beautiful name!
However, two quick warnings about this site:

You may find that Willow, while a nice first snake, is only the begining of a small collection, which in time will turn into a breeding colony .. and..
We require pictures!

Enjoy browsing the forums!

Pictures

Finally got round to taking some pictures today as promised - one of willow pre-feed and one post feed in her normal enclosure. And just for interest there's a picture of my male and female Leos, Ozzy and Sharon (she's the one with the leopard print). Enjoy!

fab amel good luck!!!! . I have one that is pretty simular called severus who apparently is not a boy but never mind she still great.

I use those same rocks for hides lol. I am not sure if they are common, but I love how they resemble rocks, and my snakes love them as well! Beautiful animals!

Hi and welcome! I and my two new babies, very similar to yours (which I have just learnt are called reverse okeetee :dancer:) live in Devon. You have landed in the best place possible, it seems. Enjoy!

Sorry to say but the snake pictured in post #13 is not a Reverse Okeetee, it's a very nice Amel (short for Amelanistic = Lacking black pigment).

Reverse Okeetee's have very wide, white borders around their saddle colour :)
