Hello

Hi,
hmm... let's see... what to say?
My name is Kat. My fiance Chance and I own several animals (too many probably to list, but if you're curious I can go over them), but the cornsnakes are my babies! We currently have 6 of them so far... 2 two-year olds, Cornelius and Isis. Cornelius is amelanistic and Isis is a nice anerythristic. We also have 4 new babies (probably a few months old), a lavender, a snow, a bloodred, and an anerythristic ghost. We've named the bloodred Kali b/c she's got a bit of a mean streak, and the snow is Loki, cause he's a little trouble-maker. Still working on names for the other two... If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. We're kind of working with a deity motif, though not specific to any type of mythology in particular! I handle my babies alot, and try to give them anything they might enjoy.. I work at a petstore, so I'm always coming home with treats...
One problem I do have, though, is with Kali. I just got her about a week ago at a reptile show, and have never seen such an aggressive cornsnake! She was fine at the show, a bit edgy, but I attributed that to the stress of being in a place like that. But now, every time we try to get her out to handle/feed/etc... she coils up, unhinges her jaw, and strikes continuously! I've never dealt with a cornsnake that did that! One of the reasons I love them so much is b/c of their temperament, so this "quirk" of hers is worrisome to me. Any suggestions? Will she get better with handling?
Any bit of advice will be extremely appreciated!

I don't know exactly, but def less than six months

I'd recommend letting her settle into her new environment for a few more days. just keep giving her fresh water. If she still seems scared give her a few more days, she should eventually learn to tolerate you. My corn was the same way when i first got him, he was a little older, maybe 8-9 months. (got him a month ago) after about a week or so he stopped the whole striking at me phase and now he's fine. hope that works for you too!

She's out right now, and for once is being a good girl! There seems to be a lot of hope for her! YAY!

All snakes when they first go to a new home are nervous and scared..Also since she is just a baby to her you seem like a large predator that is out to get her..give her time and she will calm down..Until then you could try using gloves until you become more confident around her and you see that she is starting to calm down..best of luck to you
