Hi I'm Dan, and I've just found my new love of Corn Snakes :). I am yet to purchase one, but hope to soon as i am extremely interested. I have a friend who used to have one when i was about 5 years old and it used to fascinate me. Only recently, which I'm sad to say is 10 years later, have I realised how great it would be to have one of my own, so I've decided to save as much of my money as I can and put it all towards one :). I hope you will accept me into your community even though I don't currently own one of these magnificent creatures. I'll let you lot know when i do and keep you posted with pictures etc.

Also, if anyone could help me out with names it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dan

:spinner:Welcome and enjoy the forum! Names are tough. I named mine after beer and rock stars. Not very creative.

Welcome!

Naga (my anery corn) got her name from Hindu mythology. Nagas are a race of giant snakes, and naga also means snake in Sanskrit.
I though about naming her Siouxsie, because I love Siouxsie and the Banshees, but it didn't suit her. I usually name animals after members of bands. I'm kind of a goth hippie, if one were to label me, so I've had Jimi and Janis along with Rozz and Andrew Eldritch (Andy for short).. that was the hamsters, lol. :)

Welcome to the community, Dan! I'm excited that you're getting your own corn snake soon. As far as names go it usually takes me a good week or two after owning my snakes to name them. I usually ask myself what the snake reminds me of and then try to find a name with that meaning or find a character in history or fiction that they remind me of. Greek mythology, literature, or even your favorite movies are a great place to start looking for names. Of course there is babynames.com. You can search that site to find names with the meaning you want.

Anyway, good luck getting your first snake. Have you decided what morph you want yet?

Types are made based off their coloration and patterns..You can do a quick search and find pics of many different types..or just do a search on google..

Also welcome to the forum! Make sure you do all your research before getting your snake :0) Here is a list of some of my favorite types that you can look up to see some pics of :0)

I have been doing my research for the last few days so I now know things like "hot rocks are bad"... etc. lol. I'll make sure I know everything necessary before I make the big purchase :).
