My first clutch ever has hatched!

Monster Under Your Bed
A friend and I paired our sunglow motlies and my girl laid 14 beautiful eggs!
Eggs-Tommy-Tess2008.jpg

13 of the eggs hatched without difficulty, and are now happy healthy little babies. The 14th sweated for a few days after the 13th hatched. I candled it and saw no movement, so I slit it and found out why. The baby inside was dead, with a deformed head. A somewhat bittersweet introduction to corn breeding. Here's some of the babies. I'll get better pics once they've shed.

They're all pretty fiesty, but this one just made me laugh!

And here's a pic of the deformed baby. Poor thing.

Shame about the little deformed one...but it happens...I had one in my first clutch too that had to be euthanazed, he wasn't nearly that bad though, just very badly kinked...

CONGRATS on the rest though!!!! :D

Sorry about the poor baby that died, but still, 13 healthy babies is very nice! Congrats!
I just love that little feisty one, they are so cute when they do that!

Very pretty babies, great for first time! Sorry about the one you lost, too. However, I was glad you posted photos as I was curious about that.

Thank you all for your comments, this has been such an exciting experience. I can't wait until they shed.

Congrats on your first clutch. Nice looking babies and I can't wait to see them after a shed. Thanks for posting the one that didn't make it as well. We learn something from every experience good or bad.
I hope they all are good eaters for you!

Congratulations on your first hatchlings :dancer:

Don't forget to post pics once they've shed as well, they are going to be stunners :)

Best wishes,
