I See Snakes...
Some of you might remember the two corns we picked up that hadn't been in the best of condition. Both were scrawny, whip thin and each one had obvious problems. The Ghost had obviously had multiple bad sheds due to the fact that his tail tip was only hanging on by a small slip of bone and the snow had a huge scabbed over wound on his head.

The ghost eventually dropped off the tail tip after 2-3 sheds and the stump has healed over nicely. He's still a slender boy, but he doesn't look like he's a shoestring any longer. I'll get some pics of him added later today. He wasn't in the mood last night.

Between the two of them, the snow has gone through the most changes though, he almost looks like a completely different snake, only the fact that he has a huge scar on his head shows that they are one in the same, and even that isn't as bad as it could have been given how it looked when we first got him.

Yeah, this is the second or third time the servers have given us issues this year. It's getting annoying.

You can really see the difference between the two pictures. His eyes look clearer, and he's much more active than he was when we first brought him home.

I'll post more pictures tomorrow when I feed the two of them in hopes that they'll sit still long enough for me to get some full body shots.

Yeah, and the differences in his personality since then is amazingly creepy. He was more of a limp noodle, willing to curl up and maybe explore just a bit. Now he's like a lightning bolt when he moves - here and gone in an instant, rarely ever going down the same path twice. lol I'm happy that he's active now though, means he's got plenty of energy to burn and that he's healthy at least.

He even bit my daughter once, when she was taking him out to feed - he was getting impatient and she was not paying as close attention as she should have. No blood was drawn, otherwise I would have taken pictures. Or did I take pictures of the bite? I can't remember, it's been more than 7 days.

I'm thawing food for both of these boys now, so more pictures will be coming soon!
 
I remember when you first got them too. He's obviously been given a lot of love. My amel got scratched by my one of my cats a few months back. I cried so much, I couldn't believe it. A little tlc and some neosporin (without pain relief, of course) and you can't even tell that it even happened. Your pretty boy looks the same. Wow. He's a very good looking lad. I'll be looking forward to more pics. Good work!!
 
Thanks for all the kind words everyone, it has been a labor of love getting these two back in good health and it has a reward all it's own.

Here are the promised pictures, I'm posting them in before and after sequences as I did with the snow's wound above.

Not as startling a change when compared to the snow, but in my opinion he was never in as bad of shape as the snow was.

We picked them up back in September of 2007, so we've had them about 9 months now. They've almost doubled in weight since we brought them home too. Not in size, because they are still looking stunted, but in muscle growth and well density for lack of a better term.

I had an opportunity to sell the snow about 3-4 months ago, and at the time I'd considered it only because we still had a good number of hatchlings to look after, but in the end I let the deal fall through because I didn't feel right not seeing his recovery through to the end.

He has so much more color than I thought he'd have given how dull he looked in the beginning. Am definitely looking forward to seeing how they both grow and fill out over the next 9 months or so...
