sheding and feeding qustion

That was what I was getting at. Oh well soon enough he'll be so much bigger than the other snake you won't be able to even see it anymore and cohabbing won't be such a problem;)

Please DON'T risk the health of your snakes any further, separate them! The "albino milk corn" might try to eat your classic, or might try to mate with it, or if they are both male, they will likely fight. All of these are BAD. Please separate them & tell us you did. Plastic tubs are cheap at WalMart. If you search "two corns in one cage" here on this forum you will find a humongous thread with all the bad things in it.

I know some people do it but you clearly want to take great care of your snakes, so don't take the risk, OK?

Well I don't know what the heck the breeder was trying to market to you but that just looks like a plain old amel to me. Still, separate ASAP. This is not optional.

I do the same when bumping up. Nothing wrong with this advice.

the breeder thinks i should start feeding the normal corn ( i named it Odo) hoppers. at least she wants me to try it. she said the normal corn will be on hoppers until its ready to go to small mice , because the albino (i named it Shran , btw. yes thease are star trek names :) ) is currently on small mice. so anways to prepare the normal corn, i asume its wise to start feeding it two fuzzies?
 
Two fuzzies is a good start and then weanlings before small mice...theres a huge difference between hopper and small mice hence weanlings:) Are you getting a second cage...$5 at Walmart as I mentioned will be well worth it:)
 
Ill see how the first week goes , talk to several breeders and stores around, possibly a vet too, because i want to get the normal corn probed. and then ill decide from there. If i get a new cage, ill get it from my work, not walmart. i refuse to suport that company.
 
It doesn't have to be walmart, it can be target or even your grocery store too. Don't "see how the first week goes". The amel could get hungry and eat the smaller normal in that time period. Separate them. End of discussion.
 
You need to realise that it can often take months or more for the effects of the stress of living together to show up. That's what happened with my first two corns. The anery male, Liam, is now well over 200 grams.... and Ferenea, my snow, .... is just barely over 100.

The pet store has been giving you rotten advice, and that 'breeder' sold you a snake under a completely made up morph name and so is untrustworthy. How about you listen to the people here? People with a combined experience of hundreds of years... rather than someone who sold you something using a false term...
 
It looks like an amel corn snake to me. With lots of white. It's a very pretty snake, BTW. Please, please get a tub SOMEWHERE (it's cool if you hate WalMart so don't go there!) soon. You have 2 very lovely snakes & I want them to be healthy & happy. I was ~going~ to cohab (I only had 1 snake at that point but wanted another!) until I arrived here & read all about the problems, so I hope you will listen to the huge amount of experience I learned from & not do it.
 
Ill listen to you guys dont worry! i made that mistake by not listening to people with the Discus in my fish tank and they all died. im not goign to make the same mistake twice. I found a reptile vet near me about 10 miniuts away. They said it would cost about 52$ for the office call and 15$ to get the snake probed. they said if i bring in the second snake i would get a discount.. soo im going to make a vet appointment for both of them this weekend. it doesnt hurt, since im new to snakes, i want a professional to visualy see them for an examination just to be on the safe side. AND, if they get sick, itel be nice to know a vet where i an go to. if anyone lives near me, this is the vet im going to go to. http://www.cantoncenteranimalhospital.com/
 
They don't look big enough for probing to be safe yet, and if you aren't planning to breed them it doesn't matter. If you're not thinking of breeding them in the future, don't bother spending the $$$ on probing.
