The pieces aren't on his body, they fell off already. There are just a few random pieces lying on the substrate.

If your snake has pieces of shed on his body and the shed isn't coming off in one piece, look in the Health Problems section at the sticky at the top for instructions on soaking him to get the shed off. Then next time he goes blue, cover the top of the viv with plastic wrap, loosely, just lay it over the top, and mist him every couple days till he sheds. -
