Hey everyone. Just finished setting up my tank and I'm currently dialing in the UTH. Tomorrow morning I'm headed to the breeder to pick out my very first corn snake! What exactly should I be looking for?

I'm wanting to set up a good natural habitat and I'm wondering if it's possible to cover the substrate with dead leaves. I know they can harbor parasites so I guess my question is whether or not there's a way to make them safe. Would putting them in the oven at 200 for awhile do the trick?
