    Safe,Natural substrate?

    What is a safe natural substrate? I was thinking un-dyed canadian cypress mulch, but the edges would be sharp and harmful. Yes I have aspen but i would like something a little more natural that isn't in small particles.

    Another noob question

    Ok I just want to know what is the best incubating substrate is because i have seen a variety so if anyone can give me any suggestions I would be glad to hear them [ I have used perlite in the past ].
