    Rat snakes?

So I was wondering if it is ok to post/talk about Rat Snakes in the other sections here? :shrugs: Wanted to ask before I posted. I have 1.2 O. p. latacincta enroute next week hopefully if the heat cooperates.

    My first 2 babies

And the only 2 for the year. Maybe next year will be better, but I'm just happy to have these guys! Both have had their first shed, the one has eaten, I'm feeding the other tonight since it just shed last night. #1 #2

    Finally!

One baby has hatched! For the first time ever, I have had a pair of snakes reproduce! Today, this one came out of his/her shell! Now, what would this morph be called? New Collection-1 by johnrougeux, on Flickr

    Any day now...hopefully

Today is day 60 of my 3 corn snake eggs. I have kept them on vermiculite in a tub with lid and air holes in an empty chondro cage kept at 81. The eggs have a temp probe and temps ranged 80-81. Nothing has happened yet. I have used a LED flashlight to candle them and I see nice veins and a dark...

    What would these pair produce?

This pair produced the eggs. As far as I know, the female is a normal. Don't know what the male is. Female new eggs! by johnrougeux, on Flickr Male Image by johnrougeux, on Flickr

    Method of incubation

Has anyone ever let the female incubate her own eggs? I have a female lay several eggs last night and am thinking of letting her incubate them. Possible? They are in a Tupperware box with hole in lid inside a PVC cage that maintains around 81 degrees. Sphagnum moss is what is the medium they...

    First time breeding...got eggs!

Well, not sure how many remember me asking about breeding before, but I am very happy! Came home from work yesterday and found 5 slugs, with more to come! So left her alone and this morning I found 5 more slugs and 5 good ones!! This is my first ever attempt at breeding anything so I'm very...

    courtship (?) video

So today I was cleaning cages and put my new male in with one female...and ha, he was excited to say the least! Video quality is poor, but you get the idea. I have no idea if they locked up, but I did see some tail twisting going on. They are separated now. Was it a bad thing that they did...

    Picked up a male yesterday

The guy got it from someone and he didn't have any information on it. What morph is it? Capturing his true colors is a bit difficult. He goes from orange at the head and nearly pale yellow/white/orange at the end in certain areas. I plan on hooking him up with this girl in March:

    Brumation temps

So I'm thinking of brumating my corns..already moved them into the colder part of basement (62.7 degrees). I was wondering, could I move them out to the garage (currently ~30 degrees but not sure how cold during night) safely? or is that too cold? If not too cold, should I gradually introduce...

    Root beer cornsnake

Picked this guy up this past Sunday. Was told that it is a "Root Beer" corn snake. Is this the correct name? I named him Fiesty because he certainly fits his name. Squirms around when I try to pick him up and even attempts to bite (I think, I'm wearing gloves) or headbutt my hand. Good feeder...

    My corns

Here's my new female corn. The old one (Amel Motley) died. and here is the male butter:

    1 down, 1 to go!

The butter at his food quick!:crazy02: I was happy to see that. But the motley is being a bit finicky. I put her in a dark area so that she doesn't get distracted. Both were offered thawed pinkies. I heated up the water for the motley one's pinky so that it would help, hopefully. If the...

    Hello from Kentucky

New member here, but not new keeper. Getting back into snakes, I picked up 2 baby corns (butter and motley) today in the hopes of teaching my 8 year old some basics of snakes.
