My little corn shocked me today.

I went on a vacation and he hasn't been held in about a month because of it, but he was fed on his normal routine. He is also not shedding, nor is he preparing to. I used to hold him everyday up until the vacation. Now when I try to slide my hand under him to pick him up, he freaks; if I just...

What would cause a very tame corn snake to bite?

My corn snake has never bitten me before nor has he ever shown any signs of aggression. I just went to handle my corn snake and he bit me. There are no environmental changes going on with his tank, the temps are right where they should be, he isn't hungry because he just was fed three days ago...

Will corn snakes eat while they are shedding?

I can't really tell whether or not my amel is shedding. He looks a little more pink than he usually does, so should I hold off on a feeding? I would hate to waste a mouse.

Is he just having a bad day?

So I went to pick up my baby amel today and he did not like that one bit. I have had him for over a month and he is very used to daily handlings. I approached him the same way today as I do every handling. The temps are fine and he isn't hungry because he was fed three days ago. Is there a...

    Help with taming?

I been handling my baby amel everyday for a few weeks up until he started shedding. I handled him again today and he was very upset. He was jumpy and he tensed up a few times. I heard that putting an old sock or t-shirt in their cage will help with taming. Is there any validity in that?

So my baby amel finally shedded :) When can I start handling him again?

He shedded either late last night or early this morning. When will it be safe to handle him again?

    Shedding or not?

Okay about three days ago I handled my little amel and noticed that his color was faded and his eyes were cloudy. I haven't handled him since then but I have been checking up on him everyday. He has gotten pretty lazy and I don't see him out of his hides. His eyes are back to nomal, and his skin...

Should I be concerned with my kingsnake's health?

My king has been acting the same way he has been ever since I got him. He eats, drinks, sheds, and explores his viv all the time. The problem is he hasn't pooped at all this week. It is already Friday and he was last fed on Sunday so I don't understand why he wouldn't be making waste. I feed him...

Is it bad for the snake to hold him more than once a day?

My uncle came over so I took my corn out of his cage for about five minutes to show my uncle. Would it be okay if I handled him later today again, or should I wait until tomorrow to take him out again?

So I held my baby corn snake for the first time tonight.

:D It was awesome, but unfortunately I had to chase him around the cage a bit. I know that isn't good do that and what not but otherwise there would be no way I would get him in my hand. He was really jumpy and he didn't chill out too much when he was away from his cage. I hope he tames quickly...

What kind of enclosure should I feed my corn in?

I read a different thread in which other users were talking about allergies some corn snakes have to plastic. The feeding cage I planned on using for my corn is made from plastic, and I have no desire to use it and possibly find out that it can hurt him. What should I use as his feeding cage?

When will it be okay for me to handle my new corn snake?

I bought him on Sunday, so he has been in his new home for three days now not counting the Sunday I brought him home. He isn't very jumpy when he sees me around but I have yet to feed him. Should I wait to handle him until after his first feeding? Here is a picture of him.

    Help with a rheostat.

I am going to buy one, but I am unsure on 1. What is the right one to buy 2. How to use it. Okay, I know I should probably know how to, or at least figure it out, but I am a worry wart. Here is a link to one I found online. Is this the right thing to buy? Also, how do I use it...

Probably a dumb question, but I never used this site before.

Issues with the temperature in the cage.

I bought a baby corn snake yesterday  but I have a question about the temperature. I am currently using an under the tank heat pad and a one hundred watt heat bulb. The temperature in the cage is only at 72 degrees faranheit (spelling???). Is there another way I can increase the...
