    Thermometer probe placement.

I have my thermmometer on top of the substrate because that is where my snake sleeps coiled, under the hide. He only burrows under the substrate when scared. I'm thinking that if I kept the bottom of the substrate at 85F. then the top where he likes to be will be too cold.

    PetCo Corn Book.

It's titled: Corn & Rat Snakes by Philip Purser This book gives different info then what I find on this site. For example, he recomends humidity to be between 60% and 70%. And snakes 6 months to one year be fed every 3 -- 4 days. Also, the occassional vitamins. What gives? Frustrating...

    Another Newbie Question.

I'm very new to this, so please bear with me. I got my first Corn Snake yesterday. He is a 6 month old Normal with dark striking colors. He's relaxed and inqusitive. The reptile store sent me home with Pine shavings for a substrate, but I've read here that Pine is not good for baby snakes...

I would love to get a Cornsnake, but

I have this ethical debate with myself about it. I love reptiles, feel a connection to them, but there is a part of me that thinks it's not right to keep one in captivity. There is a part of me that feels it's not right to breed animals to live in a cage -- that they should have their freedom...
