So...I got a Leucy!!

This is the only pic I have snapped of it so far, but here "he" is in a cardboard thingy that's 6 in. in diameter...he is a fiesty little guy, but I saved him from some very crappy handling at a local petstore.
The guy was getting ready to feed him and dropped him over a foot into a feeding bin!! Pissed me off, so I had to save him from that :)

Not sure on weight yet, on my way to Walmart here in a minute for a digital diet scale, measures grams up to 700gm...so I will post that as soon as I find out...this I guess will be his progression thread?
Not sure on his sex yet either, but just like my corn, I will call it a he:)

Congrats!!! Wow! You work really fast! I'm surprised he was found in a "local pet store". Very kewl. Sky is a great name too! My first one (RIP) was named "MacLeod" (pronounced Mac-Cloud) because he was white like a cloud and because I love the "Highlander" series. LOL.

UBER congrats to you!

I was really surprised to find him there! It is a fairly well known chain around Indy...Uncle Bill's...
The one I normally go to on East Washington Street normally just has corns, milks, balls...but the one in Greenwood now has Hondurans, balls, corns...all the usuals, PLUS a Diamond Carpet Python, a Red Tail, a Sumatran Blood Python, and this one really "wowed" me...a Green Tree Python! I have never seen one of those in a petshop...

Oh ya, and they used to have a LTR :D

LOL. Well, you picked a great day to go to the "other" one. :D

Wow you got your Leucy fast!! Good thing you did though, poor thing doesn't deserve to be so mistreated :(
Congrats on the new baby!! "He" looks great! :D

I GOT A SCALE TODAY! I like it too!
Sky weighs in at 21grams...almost twice my little corn! lol
Here are some cool pics of him on the scale...and one of his setup...
Courtney had alot to do with his setup hence the flowers, but I think it turned out pretty cool...she even thought of the dowel rod wrapped with ivy & flowers! And Sky loves it! He thinks he is arboreal (sp?) lol
Forgive the flash in the last one, just to show you on his little climbing thing:)
Enjoy!

Ps, I have switched to the better AcuRite with the probe and they humidity display...the one everyone uses:) There is a hide behind the flowers on the left, behind the water dish...the unit is mounted right there, and the probe comes up through a little slit in the carpet right infront of his warm side hide :)

Yes, he was all coiled around himself, and when I got the camera too close, he opened his mouth, but forgot he was all wrapped up....when he went to "lunge" he just rolled backwards...haha...don't think he liked me laughing at him either...
But he was only taken out to be weighed, as he hasn't been home long...
Will have to pull him out for another couple minutes tomorrow to put in the Aspen...

LOL. Just remember that at his age and size, his bites might do nothing more than tickle. Enjoy that while you can!

It is TOO funny when they "fall all over themselves" just to get a nip at ya!

***UPDATE***
Sky at today. I have only had him 3 days, but the petshop hadn't fed him in about 10 days they said, so it was 13 today since his last feeding....I think they were afraid of him...he kept snapping at them, and they'd jump like pussies...maybe he wouldn't do that as much if they STOPPED DROPPING HIM! (Obviously still mad about that)

Regardless, he took a 3 gram pinky (I love having a scale:))
He should be on double pinks, since he is 21 grams, but he showed no interest in the second pinky which weighed in at 2 grams. I did the little "hey I'm food" dance in front of him, but he didn't take...I put it in his cool hide, the one he prefers...and will take it out in an hour if he hasn't eaten it.

Thanks guys and gals for reading!

^ Ha..."Sky at today" WTF is that? He ATE today...just noticed my mistake...
I forgot to add above that I switched his substrate to Aspen today too...we'll see how he likes it, honestly I think it looks 10x better than the carpet...:)

What a CUTE little guy... He's absolutley charming. Glad you managed to get him away from the petstore and give him a good home. :D
