I got a new baby cornsnake about 3 weeks ago. It wasn't used to being handled and it has taken awhile for this thing to settle down. Still a little nasty at times, but is improving. My question is that it hides constantly. For a brief time after getting it, it would explore the cage a little, but it just burrows under it's water dish and I don't see it come out until the next time I move the dish to get it out to feed or hold it. I have the cage on the bottom of a small entertainment center with a small boa in a 20 gallon tank above it on another shelf. Could the corn be smelling the boa and just stay hidding out of fear? or is it normal for them to hide this long? Does he need more time to adjust or what? Seems healthy and no problems.
