"CASSANDRA" is Here!

OkeeteeMom

Lovin' My Snakes!
Just three weeks ago, I can into this forum looking for help. I'd bought my first CS (a 4'5" adult weighing 520 grams) w/o expecting to. I basically felt like I was rescuing her from where she was. I had to learn all about her and CS's fast and was able to do that through this excellent forum! Thanks to everyone that helped me in these three weeks and a special thank you to Nanci, for answering all those pm's I sent! LOL

Six days after Evie came to live with us, we (the Mister and I) knew we wanted another. We were both drawn to "those corn's that look like Tony the Tiger, a Jaguar and a corn snake genetically collided" (Extreme Okeetees). I contacted Nanci and she referred me to a few people...one of them being Graham at Strange Cargo Exotics.

Graham was holding on to one male and two female Extreme ("Halloween") Okeetees. We were thrilled at the prospect of getting one, and so we did!

I hope you enjoy this thread. I'll be posting progression shots here.

Cassandra arrived this morning and weighed in at 11grams...

Great pics Tina! She'll look 110% better & brighter after she sheds! She came from BEAUTIFUL adults... I'm glad you're pleased.

Oooh, look at her abberant saddles!!! I love that!! I can't wait till she sheds- she will be gorgeous!

We're thrilled! I'm leaving her alone and wrapped a towel around the tank to let her settle. I of course, will add more pix after the shed. My first shed and my first baby snake...yikes! LOL

I'll take your word for it Nanci because I still don't understand all the terminology. She's a sweetie though, I can tell you that!

Very beautiful! And I'm jealous! Here I thought I was on a waiting list for one of those....Congratulations :).

Thanks so much Mrs.Z!

I was thinking the same thing! I love any snake with aberrant markings! Looks like she is going to color up well, she's already showing great potential.
Congrats!

She is lovely, I too love her aberrant saddles. That means the dark patches on her back = saddles, aberrant means = irregular or not uniform. That one section almost makes a zigzag pattern...which I love! I will also await pics of her after her first shed with you.

Thanks Tavia and Breezy!

Thanks Asbit...Now I know what it means!

Cassandra has been curled up in a mini shed/nest box (damp sphagum moss and vermiculite) I put out when I heard that she was starting a shed. I'll certainly post 'after' pix!

What a spoiled little snakelet! It would be nice to put plastic wrap, loosely, over the top of her viv and mist her lightly once every couple days, too.

Beautiful snake, congrats! Can't wait for those after shed pictures.

Thanks Tinkerbeller!

You bet she's gonna' be spoiled (all my critters are, even if they don't know it)! Thanks for the suggestion 'Auntie Nanci'...plastic wrap and mist, coming right up!

She looks great, even though she might be in shed. Dark as a baby = colorful and amazing as an adult!

Congrats on the new addition! Glad you're loving and getting into the hobby.

Thanks Jessicat! These snakes just have such sweet faces and dispositions...how can one not love them?

Very nice Okeetee! She has really thick black borders :bird:
Thanks SlitheringDead...I can't wait to observe her more closely once she's had some quiet time and a shed. I was so busy taking pix and weighing her (so I could let her relax, ASAP) that I truly didn't get a good look at her, LOL.

Tina, she's gorgeous!! My first snake was an Okeetee, so they'll always have a special place in my heart. Congrats on the new addition!!
