Buzzard
two corny
Over the past few months, I have seen and been asked about candling eggs. It is easy to say, take a flashlight and shine it into the egg ect.. but I thought I would do a 10 second picture tutorial. Yes it is really this easy. Please note that not all fertile eggs show a lot of veins, also some eggs are thicker and harder to see veins, but here it is:
First a flashlight..
Second you will need a batch of eggs...
Third-ly you will need to hold the flashlight up next to, but not on the egg.
Forth and lastly, turn the lights out...
This is a quick way to check on eggs. I would suggest waiting 5-7 days to check eggs after they are laid. This allows the veins to actually grow and show up. When it nears time for the eggs to hatch you can actually see the snake moving around inside(mostly shadow dancing). I would suggest not moving the eggs but to leave them alone in the egg container and move the light around to each egg. If there is an egg you cannot get to then consider it a gamble and do not move it.
