Rapunzel's Progression Thread

Rapunzels Prince Charming
Hey CS family,

I'd just like to introduce our newest family member. This is Rapunzel she's a Female Plasma het. Hypo Lavender and Pewter. She's absolutely gorgeous and we love her. My wife who wasn't to keen on the idea has taken to calling Rapunzel her snake because she's fallen in love with her so quickly. She's had her first feeding and her first shed already since getting her early last week and she's doing quite well. I'm seeing her explore all over her vivarium now at night and especially enjoying slipping between the gap of the lid and lip of the vivarium and just laying there. I'll find her just chilling and hanging down from her climbing vines and branches true to her name. Our cats I don't think have even noticed she exists yet as they are always to busy amongst themselves. She started out almost white and a dark pink color but with her first shed she has already started to darken. Can plasmas have okaetee style banding though? I've noticed a lot of her saddle markings have a dark purple/black banding on them which I haven't seen in any other breeds except okaetee. Anyways without further a due her is our lovely girly Rapunzel.

Over the past couple nights Rapunzel and our male cat have become good friends. Rapunzel will come up and sniff him through the grating at which point he flops over and starts rolling around in a loud purring fit. They can't play together because he's a little to rough when he gets excited but still it makes me smile knowing that they get along.

Thanks, my wife liked the movie tangled and saw her colors and came up with it. I originally had Nexium picked out because I work in a pharmacy and it was a purple pill but when I heard my wife's name I liked it much better.

Thanks MayMayz, If we hadn't named her Rapunzel after getting her and seeing the cute patterning on the sides of her face I would of named her Kawaii because it looks like she has cute little anime blush on her cheeks.

Rapunzel is doing well, she's now taken her third meal without any trouble so there doesn't seem to be any problems with her feeding. I was a little concerned at some dark patches along the side of her belly scales but after looking closer I noticed this is just the remnants of her side patterning as they are diffused to almost the point of non existence. Here's a photo of the happy little girl taking her third pinkie for me. She was eager to get him down and I didn't get much of an opportunity for a photo shoot so only one photo came out good enough to post.

Here is a photo of her current viv set up as well. My wife is currently working on a Halloween themed viv though by making her own decorations like the hanging tree from the nightmare before Christmas, a cemetery, and a haunted house. I'm really excited to see how they turn out, but here is Rapunzel's current viv design, Jurassic Park. I missed the chance to take a picture yesterday when I caught her riding on the back of the brontosaurus we have in the tank.

Figured out how my macro setting works on our digital camera so I thought I'd post some close ups of Rapunzel.

updates

I just got done weighing Rapunzel after cleaning her tank and she's at 11 grams now and still just around 12 inches long. Things are looking well and she' in full on blue as well it looks like.

Here's some new post shed and feeding photos of my lovely girl. Her cheek patterns are coming in even darker now than before. : ) Oh and our cat Schroedinger who apparently approves of co species cohabitation...

Rapunzel crawling across our computer desk. Against the differing colors you can see the brightness coming out in her peach colorations

Rapunzel is starting to grow quite a bit at the moment. She's now almost 14 inches long and weighs 16 grams. These past couple meals she is just growing so much I'm shocked. I'll post up some new pics here in a few weeks or so.

She's pretty. I bet she thought her cage smelled really interesting when you put her back after the cat. Gives me some fun ideas for enrichment...

Actually she's so used to him by now she' ignores him. They interact a lot together through her cage, but they have to stay separate when I take her out because he wants to play to rough. He goes into rolling fits and wants to rub all over me when I put her bakc in the cage. The other cats ignore her and don't like her bug Schroedinger just goes nuts when she's out and about.

Well Rapunzel had her third shed this past week so you know what that means a new photo shoot : )

Here's some pics of her goofing off in her cage first.

and now for some color progression pics, she's becoming so bright now, her peach is electrifying while her purples are deep and rich. I'm really happy with the way her colorations are turning out.

Ah while you're not looking I'll deliver my ultimate attack!

The one of her looking at the dog ornament is priceless! I love it! I think if I ever got another corn, besides a milksnake-phase miami, it would be a plasma. She's beautiful. Love her rosy cheeks.
