Some 4-legged weirdos...

HerpsOfNM

My name's Blurryface...
I had a customer give me these 4 little boogers a couple months back, they'd over wintered. They were all spunky and active in their tank pre-photo op, but went all bashful in front of the lens. Their my 4 "ninja" turtles, regardless of sex. I'm just waiting on personalities to develop a tad more before labeling who be which ninja turtle. < sarcasm > I know...really original < /sarcasm>

These 4 little brats are Terrapene ornate luteola - desert box turtles

And then my favorite Terrapene species....Terrapene Carolina carolina - eastern box turtle

Thanks everyone...their all little spazzes and wouldn't have them any other way.

Kathy...there's ALWAYS room for 1 more. You should know that just from keeping chondros :D Speaking of, I went road cruising last night and ran into Mark Twigg! He was showing me some nice little dragon faced tree worms from Alex Mendrano.

Nanci....a while back I was hearing rumors of possibly trying to get that bit of legislation reverse/overturned/appealed, whatever. It's amazing how many people come into PetSmart looking for hatchling turtles and are shocked that it's federally illegal to sell them under 4 inches. Of course I then also get the customers that tell me they'll just go to whatever flea market and buy them there, or the latest one looking for anything smaller than a 2.5 gallon tank that told me it's just a pet for her 2 y.o. daughter and that she doesn't plan to keep it for more than a year. So.......maybe it's not a bad idea to have the 4-inch law? :shrugs:
