Request: Wild-Caught Corns Only

In a current thread, KJ (KJUN) made some interesting points about the captive population and wild populations of corns. It got me thinking about how cool it would be if there was a book or site where there were tons of photos of wild-caught corns from different, specified localities. Since there probably isn't such a book or site, I figured I'd start this thread.

Please no F1s, F2s, etc., even of wild-caught parents. I'd like to see actual wild-hatched, WCs. If the locality and approximate age are known, please specify! :) Kisatchies and Emoryi are welcome.

The only WC corn I've ever owned died. But I have pics of her. Her age was unknown and she was caught in the Port St. Lucie FL area. She was freshly shed in these shots.

No Wild corns here in Belgium, as far I know.
I guess if I were to find a corn here, I would be an escapee.
I'll just enjoy the show :)

This is Norma, the only wc I have any photos of. She was my first corn and the start of this whole madness. My hubby caught her as a hatchling in 1995 in the Weeki Wachee area of Hernando County, Florida. These photos were taken in March 2005, 4 months before she passed away.

I got this guy some years ago from Dwight Good, who had collected it in either Broward or Brevard County (can't remember)...pic is his also :*)

Gorgeous snakes! Man, I'd love to find one in the wild. Aren't they really nasty at first, though? Like lots of biting, and do they get really stressed out being in a cage at first? Also, do you have to feed them live food, or do they take thawed food ok?

Hey Roy...great thread! These WC corns are beautiful. There are not too many opportunities up here in Massachusetts:cry:. Maybe I’ll have to take a ride down to southern NJ this summer for a corn hunt.:crazy02: I am going to Orlando in August, maybe I’ll be fortunate enough to find one like you guys.

Here are a couple from up in South Carolina. These are from the midlands region.

FYI you can look for them in Jersey but you can't keep them that's illegal. But I'm guessing you meant keeping one you found in Florida.

Hey thanks for the tips. Yeah...I guess I wasn't very clear. I hunt snakes with a camera and not a bag. But that's just me. I'll tell ya what though, if I found a WC corn like the ones in this thread, I might be tempted. :crazy02:FL of course.

Great replies and excellent photos of some superb WCs! Sometimes I think that if I had to start all over again in the hobby, I would just collect diverse locality WCs. There's just something about them...

Keep 'em coming. :)

Collected last year off of a construction site by a trusted resource and now owned by me.....South Dade County, Miami.
1st 2 pics are the male (Dio), 2nd set is the female (Doro).
