Corn snake newbie - thank you!

I wanted to come out of lurk mode and thank everyone for all the invaluable information provided on this board. It has answered numerous questions and quelled so many concerns we've had with the newest addition to our family.

This past weekend my son brought home his first corn snake, he named Lisa. (after Lisa Simpson from "The Simpsons", his favorite show) Lisa's about 6 months old and is a sweet little amel. She's a rescue of sorts - her last owner was in the military and dropped off all his snakes at a local petstore when he moved.

Right now we're letting her get settled in so I'll hopefully post pictures once she's a bit more acclimated. :)

I have to say that you'll probably end up with a second one soon... at least that's what happened with me... my daughter got tired of me calling her snake my snake :D

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Ginger, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with another corn, but Lisa has had me so concerned (shedding problems, underweight) I don't know if I could handle the stress. :eek1: Of course, I probably wouldn't be such a nervous momma with a second corn.

As promised here is a picture of Lisa. Just a very quick snapshot during her first time out of her viv yesterday. Sorry about the poor quality -- bad lighting and a squirmy snake don't make for very good portraits!
