Hi

Father of the Snakist
Thought I should just post a quick Hi! in here. I'm Ian, and I am the father of Euan who is the snakist :) in the family. We didn't have a great start to our reptile journey, see here:

http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78417

but thanks to some advice, and recommendations, this Friday I am going to pick up a new corn which hopefully will be a better experience for us both.

Thanks to everyone who either offered words of sympathy and advice, what a great forum.

Cheers

Ian

:wavey: Hey Ian! Hope you have a better experience this time. What type of corn have you picked out?

looks like Euan is going to go for either a Hypo Okeetee or an Aztec 'Classic'. I will make final choice once I see them again in the flesh.

Basically he wants something with more 'red and orange' so it is as far away from his 1st Anery as possible.

I will post pictures once it arrives in its viv at the weekend.

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian, I'm the father of the families main snakist as well. It's a great way to bond with your son, IMO. Especially when they know more than you....... You'll have a blast together....
I am also sorry to hear about your first venture into snakes, they don't usually go that way, you were just unlucky.... I'm glad it didn't put you off and your giving it another go..... Best of luck to both of you and don't forget to keep us informed of your progress.... That's C.S. code for pics...LOL

Thanks all for the encouragement.

Getting a bit excited now, even though it is my son's snake. Heading over at about 11am tomorrow, and if I can get my phone to hook up to the internet, then I may even post a photo before Buster2 gets back to his viv!.

Cheers

Ian

Well that didn't go to plan!

I got a call yesterday morning, on my way to the shop, saying Euan was ill, running a fever with a temperature of nearly 103.

So I decided not to pick Buster2 up, as I am unsure if a corn would be affected, and the last thing I want right now is a repeat episode of Buster1. So it is on hold until next week, when he is better.

Euan was not that concerned, and said he thought he would rather wait until he felt better anyway.

So another long week waiting to pick him up, but I am sure it will be worth it!.

Thanks Janine

He's a robust little guy, but feeling very sorry for himself at the moment, We're just about to settle down with him, and a nice roaring fire for some Six Nations Rugby this afternoon.

cheers

well I am going to have a very happy son when I get back home later tonight.. i have just picked up Buster2!

he's a good looking dude as well, but I cant let the cat out of the bag until Euan has seen him first. he' a bit bigger than the last one, about 6 months old.

anyway I'll open up a new photographic thread tomorrow and post some pictures of the happy couple.

cheers

As a final update in here, Buster just fed, just 2 days after being hand transported from London across country to Shropshire (about 4 hours) under my cot - probably not the most stress free way to travel.

But he fed like he hadn't fed for a month - let alone since last Tuesday! So all happy again here. more photos later in the Photo thread.

And a last BIG thank you to everyone who posted, or PM'd me, I hope to return the favour as we get more experienced with him.

Ant Crystal Palace had a lovely `Golddust' there w hich really caught my eye ..........

:)

I should ask Darren for a discount next time I send business his way! I knew he'd have a nice snake for you!

I would, I told them I got a recommendation from the forums.

They have some very pretty snakes there, I can already tell its not going to stop at one!.. As Euan will need more of course! ;)

As I said a very pretty Golddust, oh and a Lavender, and a Butter, and a T+ Albino.

Cheers

Ian
