fresh chicken cutlets vs frozen mice

These days i had serious problem to find frozen mice at nearest pet shops,
so i decided to search an another "source of meat" for my corn :D.

Yesterday i fed him successfully with small pieces of fresh Chicken Cutlets(for human consumption).

Can i continue feed him with chicken? Or it isn't acceptable?

I am pretty sure that this has been discussed here before. Do a search for chicken.

I would think that you are missing many essential nutrients by feeding pure chicken meat. If you needed to fill in a gap some where, once or twice year, it shouldn't be a problem, but chicken meat would not make a good diet for a cornsnake.
 
Feeding snakes chicken is not that uncommon. I have heard of people feeding their snakes chicken legs. It's not something I would do.

I think you should seriously consider expanding your search for feeder mice, though. You do risk infecting your snake with salmonella by feeding raw chicken. When you find the feeders, stock up. You can also contact one of these wholesale feeder companies and order them online.

I would think that would be a seriously malnourished snake over time if fed only meat, without the bones, etc it needs for nutrients.

Have you considered raising your own? There is a lot of info here about raising one's own feeders. I only own six snakes, and started with one pregnant mouse. Now I'm freezing my own due to having so many mice. Might be an option for you if you're not having luck finding them in your area.
 
I usually just skip over threads like this, but dude, you've been a member here for almost a year. Don't you take time to read all the good info that gets posted here? I'm sure there is a better way to solve your mouse shortage problem...i.e. order in bulk, raise your own..whatever. But I seriously doubt chicken cutlets can be all that great for your snake...mainly because chicken cultlets lack all the essentials, not to mention, they are usually held together by some sort of substance that might be a bit difficult for your snake to digest.

In an absolute pinch I guess you could get away with it once or twice a year but the next time you are getting feeder mice pick up an extra 1.3 and breed them. If you don't want to deal with a rodent colony then buy a bunch when they are avalable and freeze them, you will know when your supply is getting low and have time to get more before you are out. Just my .02.
