Hey iloveak47, welcome to the forums! :D
As for sexing there are a few ways; the most convenient is "popping", probing are also popular.
The easiest way to tell to a trained eye is comparing the width of the base of its tail.

Hi. I will see if I can answer some of these real quick...

Poop looks kinda like bird poo. Some is solid white, some is solid black/brown and some liquid.

can you see the mites? Can you see them in the bowl? If so here is a link to battle the little monsters. http://lllreptile.com/info/library/care-and-husbandry-articles/-/dealing-with-snake-mites/

The guy at the pet store lied. The best way is when they are very young. Popping works, but you need to know how so you don't hurt your animal. You also can probe later, but again that needs to be done by an expert. Tail lengh can be a good indicatior but not until they are adults and it is not 100% accurate. At this point if it's just going to be a pet, call it a boy and don't worry about it. :)

GO pick up some books. Kathy Love has a great book for beginners that I highly recommend! Don Soderberg has another. You can find them both on http://www.cornutopia.com/Corn Utop...or sale Cornutopia corn snakes cornsnakes.htm .

Yes, and it has an amazing smell too. :eek1: ;)

Good luck with the mites, once upon a time I lost the hatchling I got from a pet store to them.
