Humidity Questions

What humidity am I aiming for in the incubator?

So far, I have a ReptiPro 5000 incubator set up, running at 80F, which gives me a range of 77-81. It's a mini-fridge type incubator, but the fan only runs when it is heating or cooling.

I plan to use HatchRite, in Gladware or similar containers.

Do I need to put any holes in the sides of the egg containers?

The incubator has a tray for water, to add humidity, at the bottom. There is condensation on the insdie lower quarter of the door. I don't have a humidistat yet, but I would imagine the humidity is high.

Does anyone have a favorite thermometer/humidistat for incubators?

Thanks!

Last year was my first year to use hatchrite. I will say I like its consistency and the containers I uses were shoe box style which held 3 clutches per box. I did not have any holes in them, and I did not have any problems with moisture. I did nothing other than place them on the shelf check them once a week and about 80 days later I had pippies. I used vermiculite in 6 boxes as well and at one point I did have to add water to it to keep the eggs moist enough.
I still have about 10# of vermiculite to use up this year but I think I am going to go to hatchrite for the remainder simply because it is so much nicer to use.
