They may want to mate earlier than it is healthy for them to mate.

For a female, the general rule of thumb is the rules of 3's. That is the snake should be at least 3 years old, 3 feet long, 300 grams.

For males it's a little more lenient, I've heard rule of 2's can be ok. The only thing with younger males is you're looking at the possibility of them being less fertile when they are younger...but they are not in any danger of being egg bound like a female.

I have had an 18 month old male successfully fertilise a five year old female.
Females must subscribe to the 3 rule criteria as mentioned by ZoologyGirl.

One year old corns can and will mate, but it is definitely not good for the female, as she would be too small and immature to handle the strain of egg production. The result of allowing them mate this young would probably be the death of the female, either through egg binding or some other complication.

Ok then thanks so will Wait till there both adults what sort of age is best and in average how many eggs do they lay???

As a general rule, females should be 3 years old, weigh 300g and be 3 feet long.

Males can be smaller, but 3 years old is recommended as they're likely to be 100% fertile by then. Males will breed successfully earlier, but have lower fertility and so it's a bit of a toss-up as to whether they'll achieve anything.

I like the male to be about the same size as the female, in case things get rough.

I've fund that egg clutch sizes tend to be smaller when the female starts breeding and gradually get larger up to about the age of 7 or 8. I've had first clutches of 6, and the largest clutches can be 20-30.
