Meet Zipper. I bought her (I guess it's a her, the guy called her that) today at the Columbia show. I was taking a last walk around the place and saw her and was telling the man how much I loved the Copperheads. He told me for $20 she was mine....I shouldn't have...but I did! Wow! Nice!!! One of my favorite hot's too! Thank goodness the law prevents us from having one! He will give little button a run for his money in the good looking hot department! - Tara not Lauren cause I forgot to log her out!

awesome looking snake. i love to look at hots. but im not sure im ever going to keep any. kudos to you though.
 
Many people breed them, and I prefer to buy them. This one is a long term captive though and she took a frozen/thawed mouse last night so I'm confident that she's in good health and will eat them. They are wicked fast strikers though...much quicker than the eyelash viper.
 
Very, very nice!!! Love copperheads. Now if I can just get approval for that NIH grant I put in for and I'll be able to study them!
 
Lovely colouring - im guessing that a bite wouldnt be a good thing though.

Id be tempted too if I found a snake that looked that adorable - but I very much doubt I'd be able to get one in the UK and if I did I wouldnt be able to let it alone and would probably get chewed on :(

Ive noticed that alot of the snakes that are unusally shaped seem to be poisonous, I wonder if theres a link?
 
I believe the venom glands are usually behind the head, probably need larger liver/kidneys to deal with the venom they inject into their prey....

So i'm guessing so.
