Hello all,

I just wanted to post here to say hello, and get the first post out of the way. I've been a cornsnake keeper for only about 5 or 6 months now but really enjoy my corsnake Houidini.

Primarily I keep boas and pythons but picked up this little guy last October or November. Very fun little guy. I used to have a kingsnake from 94-2007 so I am not new to the colubrid but I am to corns.

I am hoping to learn more about the genetics of the corn so I figured this would be a great resource and have added it to my growing list of snake forums to frequent.

I look forward to checking out more of the forum and learning a lot about these snakes.

Here's a picture from the first few days I had him , only recent ones are feeding pictures so I need to take some more soon but figured I'd throw this on here in the mean time. He is not anything too fancy but very cute:

See you around!

Welcome! You have a very pretty little corn there....guessing but possibly an albino?

Hi there and welcome :D on the contrary I think corns are very fancy in the snake world, I love their vibrant colors and patterns. They are addicting! lol That little one you have looks the be an (Amel) Amelanistic a.k.a Red Albino, meaning it doesn't have any black pigmentation :D Their genetics are supper cool, I recommend "Corn Snake A Comprehensive Owners Guide" By Kathy & Billy love. It helped me understand where all the colors came from.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm down here in Union bout 45min from St Louis.

It is an albino and he has grown a whole lot since I've had him. I am looking forward to adding another one or two to my collection and this species sure does offer a lot of variety. Loads more than the boa world.

See you guys around the forum!
