So the kids were happily making the hubby cards for his bday & I decided I'd grab one of the large blue pieces of construction paper & use it as a backdrop & shoot the little ones.

Trixie after covering her was pretty cooperative...

This was the best shot I got of Mercedes from the shoot. I didnt want to manipulate her 'too' much. She has had multiple regurges since she has gotten home & she has finally held down 2 pinky head feedings. We go for a 3rd tomorrow. She's a looker that's for sure :cool:

Have you tried rubbing a pinky on the paper? It keeps thier interest for a few minutes, long enough to get some photos at least.

like I said... I tried all the tricks I know.

1. he was under a cup for awhile, raised the cup POW he UNSPRUNG like those joke can things w/ the *spring snakes* in it. This is what he always does.

2. I used a cup + warmth in under my shooting area *lift cup... SCHPRooiiing*

3. Use cup + cold under shooting area = same results as above

4. scent area w/ pinky... he cares not... he much like my husband, does NOT want his pictures taken

He seems he is not a snake that likes to 'coil' he prefers to be stretched out... my male miami is like that he gets all *branchey* when you hold him.

Anywho... all I can say is... I like the challenge. :cool:

Hey Lore - try the snake "treadmill" to wear him out before taking a shot. It is a techinque Joe and I picked up from Kathy Love that she and Bill use. You "wrap" the snake through your fingers over and over again as they slither through and they eventually tire out enough to sit still for a photo.

Gorgeous snakes and outstanding photos!

I know Nanci has been wanting to get a video of it to post for people but I don't think she has managed it yet. Maybe next time she and I get together we can do it since it would be easier for one person to hold the snake and do the treadmill and one to take the video.
 
It only took me almost 2 years... but I finally got pictures of Bacon w/o him "running" off camera lol

Hey! That's what I call it too. wrap him in a figure 8 through my fingers and just keep wrapping over and over...sometimes for 20 to 30 min...I have called it my snake treadmill too. lol

Can we get an update of Trixie as well? I love that it looks like she is smiling. She's a very beautiful Sunkissed. I have a preference for the darker ones.

I don't have her anymore :nope: its a shame, I would love to know how she looks now, she was a great looking sunkissed, I shouldn't have let her go :shrugs: oh well... If I remember correctly she was sold to Tara80, if she still posts perhaps she can post an update :shrugs:
