Hi, I'm new to Corn Snakes but I had a wc Rosy Boa before. Right now I have 4.8 parrots, 0.1 finch, 2.0 rats, 1.0 Rabbit, 1.2 cats, 2.2 dogs, 1.0 Betta, 0.0.2 snails, 0.0.1 shrimp, a bunch of mill worms & am pretty sure I'll be getting a Corn Snake within a few days. I have a few questions.

1) Right now I have a 20 gallon tank with a screen lid but am not sure how safe that would be around my cats because when I had my rosy the smaller of the cats would lay on the screen. What would be the best cage to get?

2) How offen would I feed a two foot corn and what size mouse?

3) I play music 24/7 for my birds but will that be a problem for the snake?

Thanks.

Hi there and welcome :D sounds like you have a small zoo going already might as well add some corns, but be careful they are addicting!

1) 20 gallon long tanks with sliding, locking, screen lids are the best. Snakes can't escape from them. As for the cat I would trry to keep the snake in a room where the cat can't get to it to lay on the screen.

2) Your question about feeding is hard to answer. Meal size can vary greatly. I would look up the Munson feeding plan on here if I were you. Our general rule of thumb for food item size is no larger than 1.5 times the girth of the snake.

3) Snakes don't have ears. So as long as the music doesn't have much bass (to cause vibrations) it should be fine.

Please keep us posted on if you get this new corn, and let us know if you have any more questions :D

Thanks, I'll look the feeding plan up. The music is just a Ipod hooked up to some old computer speakers so there is very little vibrations. :)

Hello and welcome, please let us know when you get that new snake. We all love to see the "new addition" pictures.
