Not a GBCW thread but I'm not gonna be around much.

Ever Evolving Exotics
Due to some recent life issues, I will not be around much. I'm trying to get my life sorta back together so I can rethink my life. I have moved out of my moms for a bit to live with my dad. I still am taking care of my animals. If anything happens I will let you guys know. I just know I have been around much and I have got some PM's. Just need to think about life and whats best for me.

Ok Betsy, thanks I'll PM you. I just need some time right now. I may just need someone to talk to ;)

No prob kiddo. Take all the time you need, but know you have friends here who will help.

Yep, thats why I posted it. I just know I have some non-biased people that can help. All my peers say is really not that good of ideas.

Good luck, David!

Hope you can get it sorted out. Just remember to use several trusted adults as sounding boards before making any really important decisions - more input usually makes for a better decision.

Hope all is well by the time school starts in the fall.

Hope everything works out well, David. Everyone goes through periods where they just have to step back and think a while. It's part of growing up and becoming responsible for yourself. Best of luck to you.

David,

I have seen many kids use moving out as the first step towards dropping out of school. PLEASE do not consider the later. You have a good amount of knowledge on herps and your passion is in the right place. Keep your chin up and I hope you get through your issues.

Hope everything turns out for the best David! I am in VA too so if you need someone to talk to give me a call or message me!

Good Luck, David. You know you have a friend in me, even though far away. Like Jeff said, stay in school and learn all you can.

Up until I was a teenager, we moved around a lot when I was growing up,...my father being an engineer climbing the corporate ladder. I thoroughly resented all the moves, and always being the new kid at school.
But in retrospect, it was a good experience and taught me a lot about people, different places, and even myself.

Thanks guys! Betsy says I am like a hatchling to you guys. To tell you the truth I was kinda considering getting rid of my animals but today I got a chance to help Outback Reptiles vend at Manassas and I relized how I could never leave my animals. I also picked up two animals I reserved both LTC animals. A female Chinese Garter and a male Cape File Snake. I am relizing I am trying to find out who I am and what I need. So as I slowly figure this out changes will happen............

David did anyone ever tell you how easy cornsnakes were to care for? Have you ever considered getting a snake that wasn't known to stink and musk?

So my mind is made up. I am moving to my dads house. I have not told my mom. I am afraid of her reaction. I have been paralyzed the last few days. I have not wanted to move or eat. It is really sad but its what I have to do. I am send a few snakes to Betsy who is hands down one of the most caring people I have ever had the chance to talk with. I will be keeping for sure the King rat, taiwan, and herald. My step mom is coming around as far as animals. We are setting up my 5 year old half brother Brasen a Panther Gecko colony at some point. He is taking great care of the crestie right now and learning with his big brother!

Whenever you DO tell her...

prepare yourself ahead of time to be as gentle as possible, and DO NOT get into any arguments, even if you think she is provoking you, and even if you feel your blood pressure going up as she says whatever she may say while she is hurt, guilty, angry, or whatever. Just remember that it will be over soon, you will be gone, and you will be happy to have left on the most positive note that you can make happen. Please do not burn any bridges behind you! You may be absolutely sure you want to live with your dad, AS OF RIGHT NOW. But in a few weeks or a few months, you may decide you wish you could live with mom again. If you can control the natural tendency to argue or tell her what she has done wrong, then that option will probably still be open, even though you probably think you really never will want it - at least for right now - anyway. If there was ever a time that being mature beyond your years will benefit you in the long-term, this is it, lol!

It is a good rule of life to try to keep as many options open, as long as possible, until you are ABSOLUTELY certain that a particular option is not ever going to be viable for you. It is also a good rule to realize that the younger you are, the more important to keep more options open. That is because you are still growing and maturing, and there is no way to know today what your passions and goals will become over the next few years.

Hope it works out well for you to live with dad!
