1 Thermostat - 2 Tanks?

I am adding a 2nd snake to my collection. I currently have a Ranco with a 6 outlet strip on it, but it only has 1 probe. Is it safe to run both tanks UTHs (same size UTHs) off of this 1 unit?...Or could 1 UTH run significantly different temperature wise and possibly burn my new guy?

I run three UTHs on one ZooMed thermostat. The probe is set on one tank, but all temps are monitored with digital thermometers and a heat gun. As long as you don't exceed the maximum wattage on your thermostat (i.e. mine is 1000W or less), there shouldn't be a problem.

Congrats on snake #2!

As long as both tanks are set up pretty much the same (same size and type of tank, same UTH, etc...) it is fine.

Yeah that is the big thing, the UTH have to be the exact same size, same brand, same wattage or the temps will be way off.

If for some reason, one of the UTH runs hotter than the other, you can add a lamp dimmer to the hotter one to dial back the heat enough so they both turn off at the desired temp.
