100G tank

I just bought a 100 g tank from a friend of mine for 50$, I just couldn't pass it up. I know that the tank would probably be too large for a corn, but how about putting in a divider? And what kind of lid could I use for this. I guess I could build one out of... something. I'm not very crafty, though. Then again, I figure if I don't use it for a corn(s), I could always do the fishy thing.

LOL you could put 2 dividers down that thing :p

You could always use a heavy sheet of wood with holes drilled in the top, and weight it down.

What are the dimensions on a 100g tank? Should be nice for an adult corn.

You can make a lid out of 1/2 or 1/4 inch hardware mesh and wood for a frame, or even use window screening.

Window screen should work for a corn snake. Personally, I'd say why waste 100 gallons on a snake, get an aquatic turtle!

I dont think it is a waste at all to give a snake extra space. Our animals deal with smaller spaces because we have to put them in them due to our restrictions. In reality they should have the ability to stretch out when they want to no matter how big they are!

Flagg,

All-Glass lists their 90 gallon as 48” long X 18” deep X 24” high which comes out to 20,736 cubic inches or 89.77 gallons.

I found another site that listed a 100 gallon with the following dimensions, 60” long X 18” deep X 20” high which comes out to 21,600 cubic inches or 93.51 gallons.

Regards,
Steve

Well I see by your sig you're getting your first corn next week, I can only assume then that you're planning on using it for this snake, and that this snake is probally a baby.
Right now you'd probally loose the snake in that much room so I would certainly divide it if only till the snake gets a little bigger.

Hmmm. I do believe that I'll just go ahead and use it for one corn. They do deserve space. And my first corn is gonna be an '03, so not a baby :)
