16 gram corn egg

I tried to post so sorry if double posting. I have a corn egg that seems rather large. it is currently 16grams. It was laid in june i cant find the book of dates but i think it was the first or second week. This egg is now bigger than my beardie eggs that I hatched, i have no other corn eggs to compare it to but do they usually get that big or heavy? If so any idea of how heavy they are around hatching time?

Most babies hatch at about 7-8 grams. I've never weighed an egg, but with the shell, fluid and placenta, I would think that an egg could weigh close to 16 grams.

I know its raining here I must be bored weighing an egg lol. so it may be ready to hatch then? I was thinking there could be more than one in there although I dont know how common that is.

Twins are pretty rare, but there have been a few this season. They hatch around 65-75 days, but there's lots of variables. They can go 80+ days depending on temps.

well the big egg hatched

just a cute lil 5 gram baby she is cute and has eaten and shed once. pretty nice for what i expected to be a normal or arnery hatchling.

Is it an amel? The pics are a little dark, so it almost looks like it might be a hypo. Either way, congrats!!!

The parents are on another post as I was trying to figure out if the male is amel or hypo. the female is arnery b. as far as the lil one ur guess is as good as mine lol
