1st VS 2nd clutch (opinions please)

It's Duck Season!
Here are pictures (I hope they show...) of Beanie's first and second clutches. I posted a few days ago about her "2nd surprise clutch ???'s". (Might want to read to get whole story)
I want opinions on her second clutch which is obviously on the left in the pics where both clutches are seen. Initially the eggs were thinner, pinkish in color, and covered in white, spotted areas. I figure she didn't have the proper nutritional needs to lay the 2nd clutch.
But today the coloration has changed and now appears less pinkish, and more creamy white in color...with the light spots remaining. I don't think you can see spots in the pictures.
I have seen pics of SLUGS but have never seen any firsthand. So any opinions on the 2nd clutch will be appreciated. First clutch is due around July 6th.

One more question regarding 1st clutch. Should I move them to a smaller, separate container? I really don't want them hatching in the hovabator as I cannot see them at all times. I was thinking of using a 5-10 gallon tank and keeping temp/humidity conditions the same as the hovabator. Thanks for your patience and input, Heather

If the top whiter egg is fertile, and the bottom ones are slugs... what should I do? They are stuck together. When I very gently tried to initially pry apart I thought they were going to tear... so I left them as is.
I have heard about taking an Exacto knife and slicing the slugs off but at this point I don't think I need to do that.

I would only do that if the slugs started to rot... correct?

Hi Heatherfeather
I certainly don't know much but i was wondering. Have you candled any of the eggs to see if they are fertile? I have read many times about eggs that did'nt look very viable but they left them and got babys. Maybe its like the saying..If its not broke don't fix it?
Good luck..Dixie

No I haven't candled them. I believe Matthew from Blue Apple Herps was correct as the top, whiter egg is still as is. The rest are turning more yellow in color and have a slight layer of white, fuzzy mold on them.

I will most likely keep incubating them as I saw a picture of an egg on this website not too long ago completely covered in mold... and a healthy little one hatched out from it!

Then again if the eggs completely start shriveling-up I will try and cut-away the bad ones from the good egg... and candle at that point.

Currently my 1st clutch is pipping so I am just taking a brief break. I am completely fascinated with the little nose peaking out of the topmost egg.

Heather
