2 corn snakes in one viv

shaunallen2006

New to corn snakes
can 2 corn snakes of same size live in one vivarium? i googled this and alot of people say they will kill and eat each other

Cannibalism IS a risk. So is stress-induced illness, breeding too young, fighting, and the difficulty in figuring out which animal is ill if they become so.

If you have two snakes in one viv, and one is having bad feces... how do you tell which one?

I was just reading the thread on kepping two corns in the same cage and I'm glad I did read it very good advise on thir. :)

Or, a regurge. I had that happen before I got my snakes separated and I think I know who did it, but I have no way of telling for sure. Now, I feel good that I will know if anything like that happens, I'll know just who did it!

If you keep cornsnakes together, you'll have to watch them while they are eating. There is a risk that both start to eat the same prey and then one will continue to eat the other snake. This can be fatal to both.

Apart from that, sure there is a small risk, but I kept cornsnakes together for many years without problems. Don't combine snakes with very different sizes and be sure that you combine cornsnakes and not hybrids ...

But you are evil, like many of us over seas corn keepers :p

I do feed all seperated in tubs outside their vivs so they can't start eating each other's prey.
