Saw this while perusing a website:

I'll attempt to attach the image directly (never posted pics before).

From the picture description: "An aquarium in St. Louis is selling a one-of-a-kind two-headed albino rat snake for at least $150,000. The World Aquarium in St. Louis is auctioning off the snake online to help pay for education, conservation and research programs. Aquarium officials said We is at the prime age for reproduction and should live another 10 to 15 years. Officials said unlike other two-headed snakes, both of its mouths are connected to the same stomach."

$150k??? Ridiculous!

If its going to help conservation then no price is rediculous, you cannot put a price on conservation.
If the zoo is short of money then selling one of its prized assets maybe the way to make some money to improve, as long as the money is being spent in the right way I have no problem with the price, I just dont have a spare 150k lieing around lol. :grin01:

It's worth what someone is willing to spend and I'll bet they get their asking price. I hope they are responsible with the funds afterwards.

Oh, I agree .... whatever somebody is willing to spend ... that's what something is worth. I certainly hope this is done as a fund raiser and they put the funds to good use. I was just stunned at the asking price (given the two-headed one I saw Rich Z. post months & months ago ... and other anomalies (like the eyeless one recently --- that's a cutie, actually!)).

I wonder if anybody will bother buying it. Somebody here should email them a reasonable snakey offer based on the picture + some contribution for their zoo. I bet the snake gets sold for 150K O.B.O.

Wow, Kind of looks like "the golden girls". But the guy that owns them would never sell. Surprisingly people will pay a price like that for something different in thier homes,
