Hello its me again, Harvey's Mum! I have a yearling male Corn who is gorgeous and he is my first ever snake. Ive had him 3 months now. I was wondering if I ever wanted another corn , ( not for breeding or anything ) but just another snake ... can I keep 2 in same viv? and if so 2 males? i of each? thanks.

This is a question i asked not long ago.
Using your Search button, type in sharing and scroll down to a thread by me called Should i get another hatchling now?
A very interesting read.....Hope this will answer your question. :)

If you use the search you can find hundreds of responses to putting two in the same tank. Along with angeladams response, you can look under housing two corns, or any similar phrasing and find all the answers you could ever want.

yes i agree...there are so many posts explaining this. sometimes i sit (late)hours in front of the computer, and read all the responses, and similar subjects concerning my questions....and it just never ends.lol

oh i was gonna say 2 in a bed is always good. dont know about male and male though LOL...hehe but i also wanted to say there are people that have experience, and u can trust those, and there are people that just heard info from other people which heard again from other people (and so on)which MAY misinform you, (without any experience).so, do some research, and i am pretty sure u can decide for yourself who to "trust"...usually the ones that post a lot, and also use your knowledge and compare it to some of those answers.....to see if they are the same as yours. see what i'm saying? i'm not tryin to make anyone look bad, cus i definately am not perfect and very very knowledgeable either. i'm just saying, be careful. phew, i hope u understand what i mean

hmmm... I can't tell if you are for or against it, mbrown?

CAV and other highly reputable sources have posted not only accounts but photos of negative reactions to keeping snakes together (eg. cannibalism). Others (including Jicin, I believe) have successfully kept multiple sankes in one viv for quite some time, they have just been VERY careful. The fact is that cannibalism CAN happen, even if you are careful. My opinion is that it is not worth the risk.

oh no no no. i didn;t wanna make the wrong impressions. i know about cannibalism, but see if i would say no, who would believe ME? i mean, im just a beginner, see what im saying? and i only know about cannibalism because other people told me. please dont get me wrong. i know cav always gives out the right infos and so do a whole bunch of other people, and so do u. i was just saying, some people mislead. like when i didnt know better in the beginning, i had asked something(i forgot) and seemed like some people were for it and some against it. i;m sorry.i would never put 2 together. i was just tryin to explain, that there are a lot of people out there, such as myself, that only know things from people saying it, not experience. i wished i could explain in better. maybe i should remove these posts...dont wanna confuse anyone.lol

I think it comes down to people's personal preference and choice. If after reading all the pros and cons they choose to house together, that's their choice. I personally think that disease transmission is a lot more of a problem than canabilism. It's just that the pictures are more exciting than two snakes with R.I. After reading responses here, and from talking to breeders, I chose to house seperately. I just think it's healthier and safer for my snakes.

I house my first two corns together. Have done this since I got them 3 years ago. However, I now have other snakes that will stay seperate. I am going to start working on a rack style enclouser this winter and hope to have it complete by Spring, and All my snakes are going to be seperated so that I can make sure that I don't risk anything. I have come to this decision because of reading a lot of posts on here about infection and canablism.
