2 part question

Hi guys I have a 2 questions for you.

#1

My 3 year old corn is making bubbles with his saliva? Not alot but I noticed that when I pick him up for exercise his mouth waters causing him to make kinda like baby bubbles.

#2

I recently change the substrate from his vivarium and it looks like the color on his skin is a little more faded sorta like milky or cloudy. Could it be due to the humidity level? Or is that a shed thing? I've had him for a week now and there has been no change in shed progress if that is the case.

Once the eyes turn cloudy how long is it before he actually sheds?

Thanks for the info.

I have no idea about the first question, unless your snake is dehydrated. Do you give him fresh water every 2-3 days?

What did you change the substrate to? Sounds like it could be going into shed. I mist my cages with a spray bottle once a day to keep the humidity up.

Are you sure the bubbles are coming from his mouth? Mucus is a sign of a respiratory infection, but I think it's supposed to come from the nose. Can you hear any breathing problems at all? They can have loud breathing from RI, but also just when shedding, so you wouldn't be able to tell by that symptom alone right now.

The milky/cloudy is probably because he is getting ready to shed.
The shed cycle starts with them going blue (cloudy) then they clear up, then they shed. The process can take a while- how long has he been cloudy for??

The bubbles thing can be because he is getting ready to shed.
It can also be because he is sick, with a Respiratory Infection (RI).
Do a search for 'respiratory infection' here and see what turns up.

This is where it gets tricky... from what you described, he could be shedding or he could be sick.

Do you have contact with the previous owners? Is it possible to find out when he last shed or if they ever noticed him blowing bubbles?
