2 Pinks

Next time I'm feeding my lil buddy 2 pinkies and i was just curious how everyone did it. Do you put both pinkies in at the same time or do you let him eat one and then put the other one in after he finishes the first one? Thanks, Dan

I don't think it really matters, I put in two at once and let them choose if they are going to eat them both.

I have heard that it's better to put one in then the next after he has moved the first one down a ways. I think the reason was because the snake could get confused.

I wait untill my snake has at least pushed it down past her "neck" the first few inches still looks horribly engorged when you try to offer another prey item like that.
She's normally not interested in the other one till she's pushed it down either.

I've heard that as well but it doesn't make any sense to me. What's confusing about 2 pray items, they smell mouse and look around until they find it, then they eat it, then they find a second one and they eat it as well. :shrugs:

I normally (i say normally, tonight was only his third feed!), put both pinkies in the feeding tub at the same time and then put him in. He normally darts at the one of them and wolfs it down but doesnt notice the other one, so when he has swallowed the first and its down towards his middle, i pick the 2nd up and show it to him, then move my hand backwards and he comes for it, then wolfs the second one down! Tonight, as soon as I showed the 2nd to him, he struck at it so fast it nearly gave me a heart attack!! :grin01:

I guess it's up to the snake. The only thing that I could come up with is that the smells might mix and they don't know there are two but I don't know. It's up to the snake not the humans.
