Hi all,
All of Jewel's (albino okeetee) eggs are 2 weeks old already they looking great and have really grown just in the last few days. I snapped this pic of them last night. Jewel also recooped VERY quickly, ate 4 meals in 9 days and shed and has been rebred to my ghost het snow. She will continue getting fed day old chicks every 4-5 days for the next few weeks as well as a fresh pre-killed rat here and there to help her continue to build her body up for egg production. She's gonna get one heck of a resting period after this and fed until she can't stand it anymore afterwards lol.

Seriously though, it looks like a lovely big clutch, she must have had some good weight on her going into the season! Hopefully the 2nd clutch will bring you success as well.

yes and they might have even 'gone' by quickly too!

I was biting the sides of my mouth, but trying to resist the urge. Princess, you and I must be very much alike, but you've got more moxie than I do.

Moxie??? What's that??? I'm just rude  :p

Yeah, since the edit button went I think I've tried to bite my tongue a little more because the whole 'remorse over being a little harsh' makes it harder to take back.. But no, call it moxie if you like, I went to private grammar schools from age 4 to 18....so it's like nails down a blackboard for me.

Not at all saying I'm perfect...far from. 5 years of living outside english speaking countries has really affected my spelling but I really think all native english speakers should know when to use there, their or they're... to, too or two and know which witch is which. I suppose 'standard' english depends on sociocultural/ethnic factors too (look at the point Bill Cosby's been making), so without knowing they 'speaker' I suppose I should be a little softer.

Sorry if I stepped on toes. :bounce: :wavey:

Oops! Sorry, Princess. I forgot you're not an American. Yes, the dictionary defines moxie as "courage combined with invectiveness," which I guess isn't a positive attribute. However, the word is also often used as a compliment to say someone is bold, sassy, spirited and unafraid to voice an opinion that may be unpopular -- that's what I meant. Didn't mean to chastise. Actually, your went/gone post made me laugh because I was thinking the exact same thing -- fingernails down a chalkboard! But that's just the writer/editor in me.

You missed my rolly eyes Nut!!!!

I know what moxie is, I was just being sarcastic.. :p

And-hey, just because I'm 'non-American' doesn't make me a non-native english speaker.

We ride kangaroos to school where I come from mate!!! :grin01:
