25% humidity!!

What the hell? I live in Socal..

Last week it was around 60% so I got nervous...
Now it's 25%!! I put in two new Tupperwares with water in it along with his water dish. No effect.

Should I put plastic wrap over the top and mist maybe? Or just let it be?

Just let it be. Don't over think it. You're driving that poor little guy nuts. Throw away your hygrometer.

That depends on the snake. If I don't keep my humidity above 50% during shed time, my little guy has a bad shed. But I would just stick to a humid hide during shed time, plus a daily mist (Lightly! Don't soak the poor thing), and see how he fares.

I originate in south california too, but I now live in northern california which is usually pretty humid (but cold.) I was worried about coming back down for the holidays and having to deal with such low humidity, but my snake doesn't seem to mind it at all. She's even ready to shed. I just have a small water dish on the hot side, just in case. Don't worry too much about it unless your snake is taking a long time to shed (or not shedding in one piece.)

I live in Tahoe at 7000 feet, so humidity is a problem.

Get a damp towel and drape it over 3/4 of the top of the tank. If you have a heat lamp, those SUCK the humidity right out of the tank. Just mist the tank if you're really worried and too lazy to keep that towel damp. Don't over do it though, if the substrate gets damp enough it can cause health issues.

Problem solved.

I live in Orange County and I just worry about humidity when my guys is going to shed.
For those times, I put a humidity box (a tapeware with moist substrate and an entrance hole) in the viv and the snake knows what to do. :)
