55 gallon aquarium...

I got my corn last Saturday, so she's still a baby. She's going to stay in her 10 gallon tank until she outgrows it, really. [A year? I'm not sure.]
But, my dad has a 55 gallon tank just hanging out in my basement.
Would it be okay to [In a year, or whenever she grows into a 20 gallon], section it in half using those dividers they put in fish tanks, and put Kalypso in one side, and another corn in the other side? [Yes, I just got my first last weekend, and already want more, lol.]]

It may be enough room, but I'd certainly measure it first. I have a 55 for my BRB, and I feel like dividing that in half may not be enough floor room for two adult corns. It's certainly very tall, but they're not really all that arboreal. Just make sure the snakes would have the same amount of floor room that they would have in a 20 gallon.

If you do decide the tank, make sure that the divider you put in is very secure. Use plexi glass...or even better, some opaque material...as a divider, and use aquarium silicon to make sure it stays in place.

But you could always do like I did and convince your parents that something big needs to go in the 55 so you just absolutely have to get something like a larger boa ;D

i hope thats ok, thats what i want to do in the future too.

hopefully someone experienced in this will chime in.

Lol, my mom would flip out if I got anything bigger. I told her my baby corn wouldn't grow "MUCH" bigger... I don't think she'll check anyways, lol. She did a little "snake snake snake??!!! YOU GOT A SNAAKKEE? Oh, she's little. Okay." dance, lol. My dad was like, "Hey! Cool!"

Thanks for the input, though! :]

I actually just took the measurements, and it seems to be exactly perfect. It'll measure more than 20 gallons for each since a 55 is so tall, but the floor space equals that of a 20 gallon. So it should work out great.

I'd be very interested to see a completed project!

Hope this helped!
