75 gallon tank for a 3 year old corn snake

bambam1313

animal lover :)
i was on kijiji the other day and found a beautiful corn snake im thinking about buying .. its in a 75 gallon tank with stand .. 300 for snake and whole set up .. but a 75 gallon tank seems to big for a 4 foot corn snake... if i decide to get it would it be better to put him in a smaller tank or just leave him in the 75 gallon he comes with ?

I'd say the bigger the better. Just make sure there are plenty of hides and ground cover so that it can feel safe when it moves around the tank. Nothing more galling than a tank with acres of open space that the Corn never uses!

I'd keep the tank. As well as being absolutely fine for the snake, hopefully keeping him in a familiar environment will help the settling-in process.

yea, im going to see him this afternoon to see about the corn snake beautiful orange, black and white i think .. dont kno the type tho . and 300 sounds pretty good for whole set up !

sounds like the price is mostly for the aquarium. for me I'd say it's too big (expensive) and can be happy in something smaller for a lot less money. maybe ask them how much for just the snake?

well see im gonna try to talk him down in price a bit, i told him i was very intrested in it, but i cant afford 300$, im only paid 200 for my corn and complete set up .. so i have to go meet him tongiht and have a look at the snake and whatnot .. and he said we will talk about a reasonable price..

Mmm. Try not to be too impressed with the tank. Orange + white could just be a nice Amel or a Creamsicle, which would be worth much less than $100 elsewhere (although possibly not where you are, as Newfoundland is a little separated from the usual Corn markets).

Bitsy: Canada in general can be a bit more expensive than the US for prices. Not terribly higher, but on average higher.

well at a pet store down here corn snakes are like 149 to 200 dollars and ball pyhton are like 89.99 lol .. i wanted an okeetee but it was like 159.99 and i could get one on kijiji on nl classifeds for like 200 with tank and everything with it ..
