A BIG Hello to everyone!!

Just thought i would say a big HELLO to everyone here.

I am new to the corn hobby/addiction.

I spent weeks reading as many posts on as many topics as possible relating to husbandry and basic care, along with all the FAQ's here at cornsnakes.com.

I read many posts referring to the 'Corn Snakes - The Comprehensive Owners Guide' by Kathy and Bill Love. After seeing posts by Kathy herself i was inspired to buy the book.

Two weeks ago i purchased my first corn. He/She is a 'Normal', 2-3 months old and awesome at that. The information in the Loves' book along with this forum has meant i have no questions to ask you guys as yet.

Here's 'Snakey-B' (My Mobile is the only camera i have available at the mo)

I would just like to thank everyone who has taken the time to fill these forums with posts. You're knowledge has given me not only many laughs, but also a problem free (so far) introduction to the world of snake ownership.

Cheers Guys

Welcome to cs.com! Lovely little normal you have there. And I must applaud you on taking the time to research your new pet before purchasing!

Hi Tula.

Thank You for your reply.

I must say i have read many many posts by yourself :)

I have been reading the posts you recently made in Garym87's new member post.

This may be :-offtopic but any chance (In the not too distant future) i could purchase a snake or two off of you, or if you know any qulity breeders closer to the south of U.K? I assume the breeder you mentioned (Malky) is located up north?

Your stories of that reptile shop in scotland are pretty scary, im sure there are many shops just as awful as them......i will definately be more wary when purchasing snakes from now on.

Thanks again

Nice to know some people actually read my posts LOL

Sure you can buy anything from me, but it will be a pain in the bum to get them too you. Plus I have never shipped any of my snakes before, onyl recieved them.

I know a guy that will courier but its an extra £40

Have you not thought of buying from crystal palace? If I lived to close to Darren I wouldn't buy from anywhere else LOL

'Course i read your posts :)

Ah yea i remember reading a couple of posts about Darren from Crystal Palace Reptiles?!!

I now have his website url saved. I will check it out (at work tomoz).

Thanks alot for the tip.

I'm a little apprehensive about having snakes shipped. It seems many people do it with no problem, so i guess its fine. Can't imagine it being very safe via Royal Mail, the poor little thing would get bashed around a treat.

Cheers

Oh never royal mail... thats Illegal. TNT and reptile taxi are the only licenced courier in the UK. I have had things sent no bother via them, although they are ALWAYS late. Seriously check out CPR, his prices are reasonable and he has an awesome selection.

Well im glad to hear people don't us Royal Mail, would be guaranteed Dead on arrival :(

Thanks for your help

p.s - You've got some cool artwork. I hope my little snakey_B grows as big as your Panther.

Thanks :) Panther is a big boy... over 4ft and over 600 grams :p

Hello, and glad you read up on your cornsnake! Welcome to the addiction, and I guess it could be called a hobby too! :grin01: It really is amazing how much you learn on here. I'm on, at least briefly, everyday, and I learn something new every hour it seems like! And I've only seen maybe 10 cornsnakes at the most in person, but the photo gallery is incredible and I can identify most morphs because of those pictures. Read up and have fun!

And I love normals!! Keep some pictures of your little guy from all stages of his growth cause I'd love to see what he grows up to look like with all that yellow in his back ground.

Tula- read your posts? why? I just skip over them!! :sidestep: lol

Welcome to the forum! I can definately agree with Elle about CPR, most of my snakes and our leo came from there. Top selection of morphs, the only problem is NOT buying things I can't afford!

Thanks guys.

For me the hardest thing about having a baby corn, is restrining myself from picking him up every time i walk in the room.

This is especially tough once hes been fed.....those 24 or so digestion hours drag so sloooowly.
