Okay! My first post where I'm asking a real question!
I'm preparing to get my first snake, and I've been doing all the reading I can on habitats for the snake. I want the thing all set up and functioning properly before I get him/her. And after browsing the forums here, and doing as much reading online as I can, I've come to a few conclusions and have a few questions.
When it comes to the actual cage, I'm leaning towards getting one of the Barr's cages I read about here. The cage will be set up either on a dresser in my kids room, or on a stand of some sort in the living room (but most likely the dresser). From the specs it appears that the Barr's cage has a small gap between the bottom of the cage, and the surface upon which it rests. My question is this: how is a heat pad attached to the underside of the cage?
If I were getting an aquarium, the aquarium would just sit on the pad; but it seems to me that it must be necessary to attach the pad to the bottom if there's gap.
Secondly, a couple of posters seem to suggest that if heat tape isn't better, it is at least viable option to a heat pad. How does that attach to the bottom? Is it sticky?
As you can tell, these are a couple of things that I've never worked with.
Thank you.
